Aventador, The Italian Legacy.

 Lamborghini Aventador, The Italian Legacy

In the Geneva Auto-show of the year 1971, the Italian Super-car marque Automobili Lamborghini took the wraps off of their iconic model the Lamborghini Countach, the first neglected then iconic model of the Italian automaker. The new beauty, Countach was put up to production as a successor of the legendary Miura the most beautiful Italian super-car ever made which was popular in the world. The Countach, being the successor of the legend had huge shoes to fill up. initially the Countach, as said earlier was not widely accepted by the enthusiasts and the society. The main cause was the never before seen kind of design which gave an ugly first impression for many of the enthusiasts. But the designers

team, led by the Italian designer Marcello Gandini, the creator of the Miura, really nailed it afterwards. The Countach was the first ever production car to be produced with scissor doors and that tradition is being followed until now, the scissor doors are now the signature of the Lamborghini V12s. Countach can be, or is considered as the Godfather of the Lamborghini models produced later. The Countach simply was one of its kind, with the V12 for speed and iconic rare design and the only in model scissor doors made it famous and popular gradually. The first models of the Countach was featured with the heart of the 4.0- liter V12, spitting out 370HP power which was mated to a 5 speed manual transmission, and as the time went by the displacement went up. As days went by people began recognizing the beauty and power of the Countach and the sales figures, a number of 2000 Countaches until 1990 when Automobili Lamborghini packed up the production of Countach. The factor that makes the Countach timeless is the wired but beautiful design and the V12 heart mated with the 5 speed manual transmission. This year 2021 Automobili Lamborghini is celebrating the 50 th year of the evergreen icon the Countach. The same time like the sorrow in the joy, the Italian automaker has announced the retirement of the grandson of the Countach, well known for the powerful Naturally Aspirated V12 and aggressive and timeless design the Lamborghini Aventador another iconic Italian bull.

Automobili Lamborghini shocked all the automobile enthusiasts with the new video on their channel and by the official announcement. They, on the seventh of July 2021 announced that the newest version of the Aventador, the Aventador Ultimae LP 780-4 will be the last Aventador with the famous Naturally Aspirate V12 engine. They decided to pull off the Aventador as a part of their electrification process and the Ultimae LP 78-4 will be the last of its kind. The last Italian Bull with the NA V12. Today lets discuss a brief about Aventador, the timeless legend.

The Lamborghini Aventador is basically the grandson of Countach, the iconic legend. The Countach, which was one of its kind who was on production from 1974-1990. the Aventador is largely inspired from the Countach. The Lamborghini Aventador is a mid-engine sports car produced by the Italian automotive marque Automobili Lamborghini. In keeping with Lamborghini tradition, the Aventador is named after a Spanish fighting bull, and the design and power was adequate for the name, a real bull!. The production of Aventador is on three phases. Starting at 2011 with the LP700-4, SV LP750-4 coupe and roadster the roofless version. Launched on 28 February 2011 at the Geneva Motor Show, five months after its initial unveiling in Sant'Agata Bolognese, the vehicle, internally code-named LB834, was designed to replace the then-decade-old Murciélago as the new flagship model of the Italian automaker. Then soon after the launch the Lamborghini announced they have sold 12 Aventadors and by the year 2016 they created history by selling 5000 units of the Aventador. The LP 700-4 is the first iteration of the Aventador, the epic piece of art is designed by the well known designer Filippo Perini. The first phase of production was planned to be limited into 4000 however the unexpected popularity gave the sales a boost and thus by 2016 as said earlier they sold 5000 units and that was really a diamond in the golden crown. The Aventador LP-700-4 borrowed the design elements from the Italian automaker’s another famous model the Lamborghini Reventon, and another concept car the Estoque. The iconic first generation Aventador, the LP700-4 was unveiled in Miami United States and was given a massive 6.5L Naturally Aspirated V12 which spits out a power of 700HP and 690 NM torque. Which is given an all wheel drive and the engine is mated with a 7 speed automatic transmission. The design of the 2011 Aventador is pretty minimalistic. The exterior is really calm and the bull looks really low and silent. With the sharp front-end and 3 sharp character lines making the front-end look bad ass the low lying figure gives you a warning not to provoke the bull. The side profile with the carbon fibre finished air-dam. is a remark of the Aventador. The rear end too is that classic and attractive one with the signature tail and head lamps. Adequate for an icon.

The second generation; LP 700-4 Roadster. Three years after the introduction of Aventador, in 2013 Lamborghini introduced the roadster version of the Aventador. The Aventador roadster was nothing but the convertible/removable roof version of the Aventador LP 700-4. The roadster was introduced with small small cosmetic changes and was powered by the same 6.5L Naturally aspirated V12 The roadster version apart from the regular version consisted of two carbon fibre panels which required for the reinforcement of the rear pillar to compensate for the loss of structural integrity as well as to accommodate the rollover protection and ventilation systems for the engine. The panels are lightweight, easily removable and are stored in the front luggage compartment. The Aventador Roadster has a unique engine cover design and an attachable wind deflector to improve cabin airflow at super high speeds as well as a gloss black finish on the A-pillars, windshield header, roof panels, and rear window area. With all this extra equipments, the weight of the roof, plus additional stiffening in the sills and A- pillars the roadster is just 50KG heavier than the normal Aventador LP 700-4.

The third generation, two years after the introduction of the LP 700-4 Roadster was the Aventador SV 750-4 or the Aventador SuperVeloce 750-4. announced in the 2015 Geneva Motor-Show the Aventador SV 750-4 came into production in the same year. The SV 750-4 had a total change or the total upgrade in power train and revamped engine spitting out 50PS more power than the LP 700-4, if you look again you can figure it out from the name itself. The extensive use of carbon fiber in building the SV 750-4 was helpful in reducing the weight. Thus the power to weight ratio of the SV 750-4 is 1:2.The car also features improved aerodynamics, with down-force increased by 180% as compared to the standard Aventador coupé. Notable aerodynamic upgrades are a revised front splitter and a rear diffuser along with a fixed CFRP rear wing. The car's driving dynamics have also been upgraded, featuring new enhanced electronic steering for superior maneuverability at high speeds, magnetic pushrod suspension for superior handling, and chassis improvements to increase rigidity. As a result the time of acceleration decreased from 2.9 to 2.8 seconds. Delivery of the car began in the second quarter of 2015 with production limited to 600 units. The production of the third generation or the Aventador SV 750-4 wrapped up on the July 2017 with the last car finished in a bespoke liquid silver metallic paint job.

The fourth generation was, according to the Lamborghini formulae was the roadster version of the Aventador SV 750-4. The SV 750-4 roadster debuted into production during the year 2017 and that was having some cosmetic updates as in the case of the Aventador roadster. Bunch of weight reduction methods were introduced in the SV 750-4, It features a compact two-piece carbon fibre hardtop that can be stored in the trunk like the standard roadster. All theses measures decreased the weight of the SV Roadster to 1575 KG. The production of this Italian bull started on 2016 and the Italian automaker only produced 500 units, as they said earlier before wrapping up the production one year later in 2017.

The fifth generation facelift, the Lamborghini Aventador S LP 740-4 is the model with increased driving quality and dynamics. Revealed unofficially at the Sant'Agata factory on 19 th December 2019 andofficially revealed one year later at the 2017 Geneva Motor-Show, the Aventador S is an update to the then outgoing Aventador LP700-4 with mechanical and exterior changes. The updated exterior of the car was designed by Lamborghini's head of design Mitja Borkert. The 6.5 litre V12 engine is now rated at 740 PS (730 hp) at 8,400 rpm 40 PS (39 hp) more than the standard Aventador and 690 N ⋅ m of torque at 5,500 rpm. The car can accelerate from 0 to 97 km/h in 2.9 seconds and has a top speed of 349 km/h . The Aventador S was featured with four wheel steering and permanent four wheel drive along with an updated suspension. The suspension is controlled by the 'Lamborghini Dinamica Veicolo Attiva' (LDVA) control unit. The LDVA has four selectable modes – Sport, Strada (Street), Corsa (Track) and Ego (individual). Carbon ceramic brakes was given as standard (front: 400 mm, rear: 380 mm). At the front-end, the nose was redesigned with a bigger front splitter and two new air ducts in the front bumper. At the rear, it has a new black rear diffuser with fins, and three single exit exhaust tips. It has 130 percent more front down-force than the standard Aventador LP700-4.

The 6 th generation was, obviously as you think, the Aventador S LP740-4 Roadster. Apart from small bits of cosmetic changes, the Aventador S LP740-4 Roadster was pretty identical to the Aventador S LP740-4 Coupe. It was unveiled in the Frankfurt International Motor-Show in 2017. the cosmetic changes includes the engine cover (identical to the standard Aventador roadster), two carbon fibre removable roof panels (weighing less than 6 kg stowable in the front compartment of the car and new optional wheels. The roadster is 50 kg heavier than the coupé due to chassis reinforcing components due to which it accelerates from 0–60 mph (0–97 km/h) in 3.2 seconds, 0.3 seconds slower than the coupe. Entering in production in 2017 the Aventador was already popular among the super-car enthusiasts and the S variant with increased driving dynamics gave an extra boost for the popularity. The production of the S variant was wrapped up recently on the year 2021.

Next facelift, the seventh generation of the Lamborghini Aventador was the Aventador SVJ LP770-4, the Aventador Super Veloce Jota (Super Veloce literally translates to ‘super-fast’, and the ‘Jota’ designates the Aventador as a track performance standard car) LP770-4. Unveiled at the 2018 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, the Aventador SVJ is a track focused iteration of the Aventador S and an improvement over the Aventador SV. The 6.5-litre L539 V12 engine, the traditional heart has been reworked and now generates a maximum power output of 770 PS (759 hp) at 8,500 rpm and 720 N ⋅ m of torque at 6,750 rpm. The weight saving measures such as the extensive use of carbon fibre, and titanium in the exhaust system has brought the weight down to 1,525 kg, giving the car a power-to-weight ratio of 0.5 hp/kg. The Aventador SVJ can accelerate from 0–100 km/h in 2.8 seconds and 0–200 km/h in 8.6 seconds and can attain a top speed of over 352 km/h. The prototype of the Aventador SVJ, a camouflaged version set the production car lap time of 6:44:97, bagging the record to Italy in July 2018 beating the German beast the Porsche 911 GT2RS. The man behind the wheels of the camouflaged bull was Marco Mapelli, and he achieved the milestone by using the Pirelli Pzero Trofeo R tyres available with the car as an option. The Aventador SVJ is the first production V12 Lamborghini model to feature Lamborghini's Aerodinamica Lamborghini Attiva (ALA) system. This allows the car to achieve 40% more down-force than the Aventador SV and 1% reduction in the drag coefficient. The system adds aerodynamic components to the car including a disconnected front splitter, tri-dimensional air outlet on the bonnet, a large carbon fibre rear wing with a central fin, under-body aero design with vortex generators, and a large rear diffuser. The system works in conjunction with Lamborghini Dinamica Veicolo Attiva 2.0 (LDVA 2.0) management system, which uses inertial sensors to control the car's aero in 500 milliseconds. The roadster variant, the 8 th generation of the SVJ was unveiled at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show and will be produced in a limited series of 800 units. The car includes a removable hard top made of two different pieces made of carbon fibre and retains the power-train from the coupé. The performance figures remain the same as the coupe.

Last but not the least is the present generation, the last variant of the Aventador was announced at the premiere on Lamborghini's social channels in July 2021. It is limited to 600 units, 350 for the Coupé, 250 for the Roadster. It has all the standard features of the Aventador S and SVJ. It produces a maximum output of 780 PS 769 hp and the same 720 N ⋅ m of torque as the Aventador SVJ. Lamborghini claims that it can accelerate from 0–100 km/h in 2.8 seconds. The top speed is claimed to be 356 km/h. The Coupé has a claimed kerb weight of 1,550 kg. It was also announced that the production of all the Lamborghini Aventadors will be stopped by the end of 2021.

Now a bit more about the Lamborghini Aventador Ultimae: The Aventador Ultimae also marks the end of the brand's naturally-aspirated V12 combustion engine. The Ultimae will be the last Lamborghini to feature the 6.5-litre NA V12 and is said to offer 770 BHP (10 BHP more than the SVJ) and 720 NM. It is paired with a 7-speed single-clutch automated manual transmission, sending power to all-four wheels. The cosmetic changes in Ultimae includes a new front bumper similar to the Aventador S. However, it comes with an active splitter and intake flaps, offering SVJ-levels of aerodynamic efficiency. The Ultimae also features an active rear wing at the back with three positions – max performance, max handling and closed. The interior is also special with number of exclusive elements and features. This includes the optional laser-cut 'Y' pattern with a contrast backing color on the seats and dashboard. The seats themselves are carried forward from the Aventador S, but feature 'Ultimae' embroidered on the bolsters. The Ultimae also features a TFT infotainment system with in-car connectivity, Apple Car-play and Lamborghini's telemetry system; among various other equipments. The Aventador LP 780-4 is the last Italian bull to be build with the naturally-aspirated V12 engine yeah Automobili Lamborghini is shifting gears from the fossil fuels to the hybrid and electric generation and they are wrapping up the production of one of their most iconic model the Aventador. Starting in 2011 the Italian automaker has produced more than 10,000 units of the Aventador in various 7 generations. The Aventador LP 780-4 is the last of its kind as introduced by the Italian automaker.  Now this is a small tribute to the iconic Italian bull from my side, even thought the production is about to end you, Aventador will be timeless and ever remembered by all the petrolheads just like your godfather the Countach.
