Nexon EV; E Change!

Electrifying Vision onto the future.

The Tata Nexon EV

You all know that the earth is revolving around the sun constantly and that is why day and
night occurs. This phenomenon also reminds us that the world is changing constantly. During the earlier stages of the automobile manufacturing the engines were either steam or petrol or diesel.During the earlier stages of the automobile manufacturing, electric engines were used along with steam, petrol and diesel engines since 1800.At the beginning of 20th century, when people found that petroleum fuels are easy to fill and cheaply available, most of the driving enthusiasts rejected those Eco-friendly engines. This is continuing for years until now. During the recent years many studies have proven that the consumption of fossil fuels like the petrol and diesel has been causing many many environmental issues and is even injuring our stability. So auto makers decided to go for a change. They started planning for an electric car which the emission is low and hence reducing the pollution. The first ‘modern’ electric car is the Mitsubishi I MiEV manufactured by the famous Japanese car-maker Mitsubishi. But what is likely the first human-carrying electric vehicle with its own power source was tested along a Paris street in April 1881 by French inventor Gustave Trouvé. Now the electronic car industry is a full fledged business. The electric car industry is not a joke the ideology transportation of people without harming the earth has striked upon the minds of almost all car- makers and every brands started bringing up their own electric models. Now the waves of e-cars have been hitting India for a while and an ‘Indian’ made e-car isout now. Literally not now but a bit before. Yeah it is made by the Indian car-maker Tata Motors. And that is the e-version of the Nexon SUV. Now Nexon is the contestant from Tata motors in the segment of compact SUV s Nexon is really a great player in the segment with
the
strength of Tata this Nexon has got into the minds of many. The other players in the segment are the Ford Ecospot, Maruthi Breeza and Mahindra XUV 300. yeah now coming back to the topic; After the experimental launch of their first e-vehicle the Tigor EV they stepped into the full fledged business. And the player does not have to be introduced. With the wide acceptance the Nexon EV is the new E-Hero of India. Having tough competition in the market lets check how the Indian EV performs.

The Tata Nexon EV:

Design; Futuristic and Electric:

Now let’s start our Business. The new Nexon EV, as said is the serious player on the Indian E car market and as you all know this thing is damn cute and popular moreover the Tata motor company is well known for the safety and the strength of the car. This car from the front side looks very cute and lovely. With that smiling face this EV radiates a cute vibe a pleasant smile to others face. But technically the smiling face is not as pleasant as that of the old Nexon it is more serious. And the most interesting thing is that if you search for any potholes or openings in the front side of the car you will not find one. That is because there is no need of air intakes or air dams because this is not a petrol or diesel car. This is an EV this car runs on Batteries. But this thing is not an underrated EV just like the Tigor this thing have some power inside it that we will check later now coming back to the front-end the no chrome policy has made it more sportier. The multi functional Projector head lamps along with the halogen Head lamps are incorporated elegantly and practically. The fog lamp too which is packed inside a black cladding is giving a sporty approach to the car. The piano black center grille which is thicker and bolder is as a part of the Tata’s new design
philosophy. And the Tata emblem is placed right on the center of the black lines. Coming further down you can see the air dam is concealed and the new EV style patterns are generated on the place of Air Dam and this pattern is dual tone. These elements really gives the car an Electric Feel and futuristic feel. And to give more of an SUV feel the Fake aluminum skid plates are placed, this increases the boldness and rugged feel. The windshield which too is massive is also great. Now altogether the front-end of the new Tata Nexon EV is really futuristic and is really identifiable as an EV. Simply Cute and Practical. Now coming around to the side profile, the side profile is all sharp and muscular with that sharp body lines the overall muscular look is just as that of the old Nexon. There is a sharp body line  starting from the shoulder line is curved out very well. The B pillar is mostly given the Black finish and the dual tone roof also enhances the SUV feel. The rear view mirror is given a piano black finish and the sharp body line on the B pillar to make it more aggressive. Another striking point is the blue window line incorporated to give the electric feel. Coming down to the bottom end we can see a common SUV character that is the Black cladding given all around the bottom panel of the car including the wheel arches. There is another black cladding slightly up on the doors too. The 16 inch wheels adds
more to the SUVness of the EV. There is an EV badge on the both Left and right side doors. The roof-line is really giving a floating roof feel and just enhances the feel of a real SUV. Now coming way back to the rear end of the Nexon EV we can see the continuation of the body-lines from the side doors. The blue shoulder line is continued on the rear end too. The rear end too is well designed and really futuristic the light blue and black finish is elegant and sporty. The tail lamps are not LED There is a Tata logo placed on the center and as per new philosophy of Tata the name band is on the bottom panel of the boot. There is an EV badge too to understand that it is an EV. Altogether the exterior is really futuristic and creates a vibe of an electric car especially the Blue paint job complements well to the theme and character of the car. Overall the exterior is well designed with sharp lines and without losing the SUV character and the EV futuristic vibe. The verdict about the design is that as said above it is really electric and futuristic.

International Style and Comfort:

Interior:

Now coming to the Interior; the Back and beige dual tone interior looks and feels premium and really gives an international taste. Also there are blue highlights on various parts like the dashboard and the gear console. The steering column is sleek and elegant and practical. The steering wheel is given a piano black finish the premium touch. And as usual there are the infotainment control buttons on the multi functional steering hub. The meter console the well arranged and elegantly placed without compromising the practical elements.
The digital display on the
center is practical and it provides information about the charge percentage and the current range also it is really nice as a barrier from the RPM meter and the Speedometer. The center console is well finished with the dual tone finish and the blue strip lines. It really feels electric. The noticeable thing on the center console is the gear selector nob it is really elegant and well placed and is handy too. The 7 inch infotainment screen is really practical and clear with all the common features like Android auto and apple car play the graphic quality is really nice and
Electric. Now the next main point you
will ask is the storage space, there are various storage space on the door and on the center console. Now coming to the seats the two row seats are really comfortable and is having reasonable head room leg room and thigh support the seats are really plushy and comfy to sit in. the rear seats are comfortable and plushy with lavish leg room and head room. The cabin over all is really futuristic with that blue highlights and the piano black finish is really making it more premium and elegant. The beige color is make it more elegant and international.

Now Technically speaking :

The heart of this futuristic EV is a
Permanent magnet Synchronous Motor
Powered from a 30.2KwH Lithium Iron Polymer Battery giving a power output of
129 ps and torque of 245 NM. The fact is that you should never underestimate the power of an Electric car. This thing is powerful. The pricing is well priced too but the price is a little high as it is an EV. The price ranges from ₹13.99 Lcs to ₹ 16.40 Lcs. In ex showroom. The on road price ranges from ₹15.60 Lcs to ₹17.81 Lcs.

Verdict:

This car apart from the Kona EV and MG ZS EV, the competitors on the field has
the trust of Mahindra and is really cheaper than the others. So If you have a
plan to buy a futuristic and Eco friendly Electric vehicle without emptying your
wallet or if you want to buy an Electric SUV and a truly Indian one you don't
want to think twice just take it really worthy of it. This muscular elegant
Electric beast is just suite for the Indian market and is giving tougher game for the other players.
