Huracan STO; The Track-born!

I have written a lot about the Italian automaker, the home of naturally aspirated V10, V12 monsters, Automobili Lamborghini. So I think there is no need of an introduction to what we are gonna hear from the hosts today. Yes it is about a track monster who has came some time ago  with the technology from space age to grind itself and get the taste of the regular asphalt, the Car "Based on True Story", as said by the officials. Lets hear it from them.

Hello there Jade! how are you mate. Hai Eric!, man its been a while so do you have something interesting today?. Yes pretty much yes The Lamborghini Huracan STO, I have been admiring about the beauty and the beast in one piece of artwork and they have done massive job in caging both traits to one carbon fibre aluminum chassis. Yes mate, yes you can always say that, appreciate their effort man such a lovely car it is.  Basically this is a track version of the road car Lamborghini Huracan. The Huracan is such an amazing car that is named from the character of the car. It is powerful, playable and  good looking. The name  Huracan, which is  the Spanish name for hurricane is just another amazing creation from the house of Lamborghini. It touched the asphalt from the second quarter of 2014. Yes man I remember seeing it on the 2014 Geneva auto-show for the first time. Ya man that was the first time they broke the cover of the car for the first time.  It then was a mid engine sports car, the first one of the car was the Huracan LP 610-4. Which clearly said that the powerhouse of the car was placed longitudinally. The Longituedinale Prosteriore says it all man.  Ahh yes and they have given it an extraordinary iteration, and in that they have take the car from the track, or the track legal car and mixed it with the road version of the car. Yes man and they have made it so interesting that, this car now have both the traits of the road car and the track car, yeah mighty but yet tamable on the roads, that is what the Huracan Super Trofeo Omologate is. Man they have added some sick packages to the STO edition and this thing is just a beast of it.

That addition is clearly visible on the car from the first sight man, the very first thing that you can see is the overall new shape of the car and for the first sight the hood is housing two massive air ducts which is there for the continuous air flow and another main reason is to get massive amount of down-force. There are other elements like the front wing rear wing and sharp cuts and creases which let the car cut air more easily. Moreover there are lots of air curtains, gills on the wheel arches and a massive roof scoop which makes the car looks like a shark with a massive fin on the top. All these factors makes the car more aerodynamic and subtle to look at. More like a sophisticated track machine. One of the main factor on the hood which gives the car an aggressive appeal is the signature headlamps, the way it is placed gives the car the face of an angry bull. There are air dams and a lot of elements to help the nose cut air more smoothly.

On the sides man, the main spot of attraction is the wheel arches, apart from housing 20 inch wheels the wheel arches are home to some carbon fibre finished gills which improves the airflow on the sides. Apart from the contrasting finish of the gills and side-skirts. The whole side profile have lots of sharp character lines cuts  and creases which makes the side profile pretty sophisticated but the streamlined kind of shape also makes it more aerodynamic. The wing mirrors and the door handles are the other two things which makes some contrasting accents on the side profile. The shoulder line have sharp veins and creases which reaches the hip portion giving way to more air vents. One of the most standing out thing in the side profile is the shoes this car has put in. The matte black forged Hek mono-lock iconic Lamborghini wheels makes it a deadly combo with the bridgestone potenza race tyres, they have also given one silver and one diamond finished Hek Mono-lock pattern alloys and a Magnesium forged  multi spoke alloy with a bronze finish. Also this car is given CCMR carbon ceramic breaks which as they say are derived from the formula 1 technology.  The wheels  on either sides are given the same size not like the ones you have seen in Aventador or others.

The rear end is clearly as sophisticated as that of the others. The signature Lamborghini style has been followed in the rear which makes the rear end so 'busy'. The main attraction on the rear end is the massive wing which is emerging from the engine cover. This massive dual plated rear wing helps the driver to hold the rear end in position and to throw it out as per his choice. The rear wing is another addition of aerodynamics which helps the rear to stick on to the road. There is a combination of gloss black and orange finish throughout the rear end and on the roof scoop is where the elements stand out. The rear end is filled with the regular Lamborghini things, the Lamborghini logo and the signature octagonal grill with the name "STO" sculpted out on it.  Under the body there is a massive carbon fibre finished diffuser placed which again helps the airflow of the car.  From the outside as I said earlier man this looks just meaty, and beastly, a car truly from the tracks.

This car looks as subtle on the inside as it looks on the outside man. Yes the interior is dipped in black and is available with either bucket seats or racing seats. One of the main features which makes this, or to be real any Lamborghini so talkative is the way the interior is put together and the way they have added the color accents.  Well but the interior feels very much carbon fibre which is giving it a GT3 touring car feel. The fact about the interior is that there is nothing much to talk about the interior of the STO because there is everything that you can see or that you expect to be in is there, the hexagonal AC vents, Lamborghini developed infotainment system which absolutely  every type of data needed for a track day car. The stitching and piping of the interior is finished in orange and blue finish, also it is given the Lamborghini signature alcantara leather inserts all around and in the steering wheel. Going on with some broucher information, this car is having three driving modes, which is not a new thing, the STO, Pioggia and Trofeo. As the broucher says, the Pioggia mode is good for track use in wet and slippery conditions, Trofeo for dry track conditions and STO for the ultimate street driving experience in any conditions. This three modes are more secured with Lamborghini Integrated Vehicles Dynamics tech which adjust the damping and other elements which play crucial part in assuring immersed driving experience.

Talking some numbers this thing has some serious power under the hood, with the 5.2L signature naturally aspirated V10 under the hood which churns out 631 HP and 565 NM and delivers it altogether to the rear wheels. The rear wheels then with the help of another iconic 7 speed dual clutch automatic gearbox  pulls to the 0-100 mark in 3 seconds dead.  The breaking duties are done by carbon ceramic front and rear breaks and the car is held together by the carbon fibre chassis. At the end of the day this beast which has the track pedigree more than it should have, but that is the main factor which makes the car so exclusive on the roads.
