Taycan Turbo S: Car looking EV!

Porsche, the guys from Stuttgart is pretty much famous for their flamboyant raw power machines, with the classic Porsche look, minimal design and  maximum performance, which are their signatures in the industry. Now raises a possibility, how will it be if all these Porsche traits come together in an EV? Well Porsche has answered this question a couple of years back with the introduction of Taycan, their stepping stone to the electric car platform. As time flied Porsche introduced many more models to the Taycan line-up like the Taycan 4S, GTS,Turbo and Turbo S. Apart from the new models, they also introduced two new body styles, the Sport and Cross Turismo versions. But as it turns out, keeping things simple the new body style is pretty much the estate version as far as I am concerned. Now today, our hosts are having a little chat about the variant with stupendous acceleration, the Taycan Turbo S.

So Jade, speaking of all these EVs, I think the conventional EV styling is pretty dump many of the times. Yes man I felt so many of the times too, even with the Teslas, and Lucids with power and comfort hanging over the top, they are pretty much designed in some kind of space ship designs. Even when Merc, Audi and other companies came to the EV market with their contestants, they too lacked something. If you ask Me what it is, I can say that it is the look of a regular car and the conventional styling. But Eric time moves on and improvements and innovations happen. Uhhh you can say that, but as a petrol-head what makes me walk away from EVs is the design. Ahh but you will gradually be familiar with the new philosophy mate. Yes but about three years back I saw something on the TV that checked all my boxes, pretty conventional, powerful and comfortable. Let me guess that man...  Well as far as I can think, that would be a Porsche Taycan.

Mate this is the Porsche Taycan, but with a Turbo S on the tail. Ooh the other one with some G forces to experience due to the monstrous torque as you accelerate from 0-100 huh?. Yes that is one of the highlight of Taycan Turbo S. Yes mate that is pretty much what everyone expects because the name says it all, the word "Turbo S" given to a car without turbo does two things, one, it says the car is incredibly fast and two it could make you believe that it has turbos. Man but people other than you have the common sense  not to mistake of an EV having turbos. Yeah, whatever but there is something interesting on this car which has replaced the turbos because it is an EV. What is that? Well as it turns out, this car have two gears, one in the front and one in the rear. Aahaa so that is the reason that this car makes you feel sick if you launch it for 10-20 times continuously huh? Yes mate exactly, as this car have two gars, the amount of torque delivered during the launch is massive and it can be experienced by the drivers. Ohh my god that would be such an experience.

Talking some numbers, this thing has two motors on the front and rear axles packing a total punch of 750 horses and 1043 newton meter torque, and this can thus hit 0-100 in  Which is a reason why this thing is really absurd on the case of numbers, without any other spec, the stock car costs about 139K quid, it varies according to the way you spec it. High on power and high on price, but at the end of the day this is an EV with a Porsche  badge on it. But look Jade a Tesla costs you about 100K less and plus it has more range and well established charging stations, which could get you out from charge anxiety, but with this thing on your hand you probably will have to consult a psychologist for anxiety after you complete a road-trip on this thing, because it only has about 309 Km range in single charge which is man above the half than that of a Tesla. Whatever it may be I like this thing, and the fact we both agree on is that this looks like a car, a conventional real car, not the space ship of a Tesla. Hmm well that is a fact mate!.

Now how it looks man?, I think looks are one thing which makes you spend 100K more on this rather than a Tesla. From the way this looks, this is subtle and just simple, that's it. Yeah no sophistication, no complex lines or any other kind of design elements and that is the Porsche way of doing it. Yes the signature Porsche design has been carried out into here too. More or less this thing reminds me of the Panamera, maybe a modern Panamera kind of design but they  have done it well. Yes from the front this has the signature Porsche looks, the plane and simple look. Mate they have given notable changes to the front end tho, the headlamps, which are matrix LEDs in kind of oval shape not the circular one, packed into this bulged out wheel arch extensions which give an appeal of the classic touch, they have changed it and added a small air curtain down the line of the headlamp, which is finished in black too. Down the front end on the lip of the car, there is a carbon fibre front splitter and all these black accents are incorporated nicely without making things dirty. On the front boot door, not the hood because it is an EV, there are two mild character lines and a Porsche logo completing the front end.

On the side, it is plane again but with a small air curtain near to the wheel arch and two mild character lines, one around the hip and the other around the bottom quarter.  The massive glossy black finished pop out handle bars, and carbon fibre finished side skirts makes the car a little bit sportier too. Man you have missed the important highlight, the shoes, massive 21 inch wheels with Mission E design wheels with massive exposed calipers make it look more ecstatic, the black finish on the alloys complete the course. Look, the hip gets bulgier around the tail end which is an aerodynamic advantage, also it gives the car an extended coupe feel.

Man look at the rear end, it has followed the modern Porsche philosophy, with sleeker tail lamps, minimal design and sportiness packed all around. The diffuser, and the vents make the rear end more subtle and sporty. At the end of the day this feels like a modern Panamera that's it mate. Uhh that is the simple conclusion, the Porsche way!.

Now the interior. Yes the interior is a mix of both cool and dump stuff, but it is brought together beautifully and the overall ambiance is good. Mate let me say the dump stuff, it is in the gauge cluster, the gauge cluster has done beautifully, in a minimal, clear manner but they have given some rather useless information in the outer edge of the cluster, and I said rather useless because it is not visible in the driving position. What man? Yes now I got it, the steering wheel is hiding all that information, but other than that, well made dashboard and the sport chrono stopwatch instrument is an extra ornament to the dash. Even without that the dash looks pretty luxurious with the gloss black instrument cluster and golden accents given to it on the AC vents, the combo works well. Mate this golden accent can be seen all around the interior, like in the steering wheel cup holders , door handles and other ac vents.

The lower part of the dash and the seats are finished with Atacama beige and the contrasting black suits well in giving the luxury ambiance all around the interior. The centre console also have more screens around and some storage spaces along with a couple of cup holders. On the rear end we have a bit of compromised headroom because of the panoramic glass roof, also you can pay some extra money to get one more seat which will be pretty uncomfortable. Still as I said man, they had put this thing well. Yes completely perfect for a steady cruise but not for long drives tho. Well man, the fact is that this has the audio system worth around 6K and the signature Porsche 18 way adjustable seats. Well that will add up points and the fact is that we forgot about it. Hehe!

This car is really fast on the papers as well as on the road, elegant and beautiful minimal and at last a Car looking EV. Yes good for that but still Tesla have the upper hand bro!. But this is a Porsche man that logo makes you pay more and the range takes you to a psychologist. And On that Bombshell lets call it a day. Yes bro see-ya!.
