GLC Coupe, Calm & Aggressive!

A Short Review :

The GLC coupe of Mercedes Benz is a coupe SUV which is the Coupe version of the Mercedes GLC, one of the most selling SUV in India. Here I am reviewing the all new Merc GLC Coupe 300D which is diesel fuel type. Now a days Indian auto industry is overcrowded with the SUV (Sports Utility Vehicle)s, but the Merc holds a high standing position with its unique design, build quality, drivability and Brand Value. As you all now the company Mercedes has an amazing brand value and popularity in the world automobile industry from its earlier stage and is still continuing the legacy even now

Now talking about the GLC Coupe; we usually say that “The First impression is

the Best Impression” and I used this quote in this situation because I can thoroughly say I am impressed; there are small small changes from the old GLC coupe and these changes makes the car a face lift.

Exterior:

Starting from the front side of the car the new headlamp design looks so attractive and the new design of the DRL is catchy, which is a similar pattern that of the eyebrows. The Multi Beam LED headlights on the front end of the car is pretty powerful. But the new type of LED light is not as deep as the old halogen headlamps, especially during rain. From the headlamps when we come to the front grill, it looks attractive gives a presence to the car on the road. The design of the front grill is elegant and really gives the car a muscular feel and an SUV look. There is a chrome strip on the front grill where they have placed the 3 starred emblem of Mercedes Benz.,which announces the arrival of the car.

There are 2 hood lines on thee hood (not to mention) which carves out a bold character to the car. And coming to the front bumper the chrome finish and the low air vent gives the car a powerful SUV character, and makes the car stand out in the crowd. Overall from the front view of the GLC Coupe, Mercedes Benz gives a unique signature to the car and hence it gets more popularity points in the market. Now Coming to the sides of the car, we can divide the side profile into 2 half, one the SUV side and another the Coupe side. The first half which include the 2 front doors is pretty similar to the old GLC coupe. The shoulder lines and the chrome finish starting from the A pillar going through the B pillar and ending on the C pillar is altogether giving the side pillar a serious look. Overall the side profile looks pretty muscular and gives a presence in the road as said before. Other than the SUV s the wheel given for the coupe is also having a different profile. The 19 inch wheel gives the massiveness for the SUV and the 6 twin spoke wheel design is pretty elegant. The tyre profile is 235,55 and apart from the GLE coupe the size of the front and rare tires are all the same.This rear part of GLC coupe is almost same to the C coupe which is the coupe version of C class. Especially the wraparound tail light takes most space in the rear portion along with indicator and RTL.. There is a chrome element on the top portion of the tail light which feels like luxury. And to the center of the rear end , as usual there is no registration plate on the rear.

It is placed on the bottom portion, which is common in case of Mercedes. And as we all know pure coupe design includes a bulging boot design which gives us a sedan feel. Coming to the bottom end of the rear potion the chrome insert is good looking and the exhaust pipes are elements of the design another way to say that they are fake lol. Even though there is no exhaust we will definitely get a sporty feel on the rear end. In the new GLC Coupe all these design elements are put out together in an elegant way and after all you know its a Mercedes and u definitely can have a minimum guarantee on the finishing, and interior and exterior quality. And summarizing about the exterior of the GLC Coupe its really up to date and muscular and thus we can feel the presence on the road and this is a German product and hence you all know the early proven class of Mercedes Benz.

Interior: 

Coming to the interior Lets start from the boot.The boot is as usual electric. If

we touch the emblem of Mercedes we can open the boot and is deep enough and have a space of 500 liters which is enough for small small trips not for carrying big big cartons and all. Coming to the interior part the interior design is pretty similar to the C class , especially in the dashboard the design similarity is mostly expressed. Starting from the

center console, the three air vents with the design which is carried out from the c class. Coming down to the switches and other function buttons are layed out in a similar to the C class and GLC. And the meter console design is same as on the C class and GLC. We can change the theme of the meter console into three different types, which are classic sport and progressive. The button to control the meter console is on the right side of the elegant leather finished three spoke steering wheel, and on the left side of the steering wheel we have the buttons to control the infotainment system. And on the steering wheel we have the paddle shift and for Mercedes we have column shift as the gear shift selector.The infotainment system is new and updated. 

The MBUX MercedesBenzUserExperiance) infotainment system which is new is responsive and elegant in design. The fact about this is that the MBUX system of Mercedes was introduced on India through the GLC. Here we have an updated version of the MBUX system as said before. Apart from the touch function controls we have in the car the voice assistant function wherewe can request the car to activate the function through our voice command which is kind of common during these days but yeah its cool because it can identify your voice don't care whatever slang you are speaking. The funny point is that this MBUX is bit too talkative. Lol. And we have a sunroof on the top and the upholstery finish on the seats are such a quality and class the black leather (artigo leather)interior itself shows the class of the car and it gives us a premium feel in the interior. We have different interior trims on the interior we have a matte black finish on the center console. We have the sound system of Mercedes itself and no Bermester or any other system. But the speaker design is similar to Bermester. The front seats have lavish legroom and head room in there.

Coming to the rear end we have the sloping roof ,which is an element of the Coupe design so u will not get a lavish head room on the rear seat but it doesn't mean that you will not get enough head room , you will get enough head room in there and the most you will not feel claustrophobic feel on the rear seat and I can say its a little cramped from what I saw. But the rear window is large enough to take away the cramped feeling out. And we have enough knee and leg room in the rear seat but the thigh support is a bit less. And if there are only 2 passengers on the rear we here have a cup holder and hand rest and the middle seat is recomanded for kids only because of the transmission tunnel’s bulge and because of the rear AC vent, it is more suitable for kids. The rear part is bigger than what it look like from outside. And it is more comfortable for a person with an average height and not so good for person with above average height.As I don't have a driving license and due to the unavailability of the vehicle I am unable to share the driving experience but 2 years from now I will be able to get a driving license and hope I will definitely get to drive this car. But I will be giving the specifications of the car here so that you will be able to check it out. At the end of the day My opinion about Mercedes Benz GLC 300D 4MATIC Coupe is that it is an amazing car for those who enjoy to spend time with their car exploring the roads and enjoying the power and torque without missing the luxury and for the same kind of people those who wanted a branded coupe SUV. This car will give you a road presence and great relaxing drive when you are driving yourself mad with the work pressure from your boss in the office, you just let your boss yell at you and after his yelling you just grab the keys of your GLC Coupe and hit the road and you will be relaxed.
